The advancement of new technologies in present times has offered unparalleled connectivity and communication, which places the individual at the centre of their own digital worlds. The ease of access to information, news, commodities, and entertainment has facilitated our modern way of both work and leisure. We are exposed to an increasingly saturated visual environment that we have learned to derive our own individual meaning from and engage with on social levels. In this sense digital comm- unications have truly revolutionized the way we lead our lives and perceive the everyday.
ThisĀ editorialĀ is the product of a series of investigations intoĀ different areas withinĀ digital culture. Through quite open experimentation, I was able to shed light on topics such as Internet Tracking, Fake News and Twitter Data through infographics.Ā Research isĀ integral to a project such as this and thus I have used data from various different sources such asĀ Lightbeam, Buzzfeed andĀ RGU itself. Hopefully the outcome is found engaging and accessibleĀ in attempting toĀ make sense of these complex modern topics.
